Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy describes how LinkPower Companion (“the app,” “we,” “us”) collects and uses information when you use the iOS app and the website at linkpower.app.

The app is a privacy-respecting Bluetooth companion for the PeakDo Link-Power family of portable power stations. There are no user accounts and no first-party servers handling your data.

What We Collect

Devices & Settings.Pairing data, saved device names, telemetry samples (state of charge, input/output watts, port status, temperature), and configuration you set (port toggles, USB-C limits, schedules) are stored locally on your device. The app doesn’t require an account, and your data does not leave your iPhone unless you explicitly opt into iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (Optional). When enabled, your settings and paired-device list are synchronized across your devices using your private CloudKit container. Only you can read this data; we do not have access to it.

Notifications. Charging completion, schedule-fired, and connection-loss alerts are scheduled locally through iOS notifications. We do not maintain a server-side push token or send remote notifications.

Diagnostics. If you opt in, anonymous crash reports and usage analytics may be collected to help us fix bugs and improve the app. These reports contain no personal information and no telemetry content tied to your identity.

What We Do Not Collect

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts
  • Microphone input, camera, or precise location data
  • Power-station telemetry or pairing identifiers on our servers
  • Data for AI training or advertising profiles

How We Use Your Data

  • To pair with, monitor, and control supported PeakDo Link-Power power stations over Bluetooth
  • To keep settings and paired-device lists synchronized across devices when iCloud is enabled
  • To diagnose crashes and fix bugs (opt-in only)

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Third-Party Services

  • Apple Core Bluetooth / iOS — Required for pairing and exchanging telemetry with your power station
  • iCloud / CloudKit — Used only when sync is enabled; data stored in your private container
  • Apple App Store / In-App Purchase — Handles any future subscriptions or one-time purchases; we receive no payment information
  • Cloudflare — Hosts the static marketing website; may process request metadata
  • Google Analytics & Ahrefs Analytics — Aggregate web traffic analytics on the marketing website only; not loaded inside the app

Your Choices

You can:

  • Forget paired devices and clear settings via Settings inside the app
  • Turn off notifications in iOS Settings
  • Disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings
  • Uninstall the app to remove local data
  • Opt out of analytics on the marketing website by using browser tracking-protection or extensions

Data Retention

Telemetry and settings are kept for as long as you keep the app installed. Anonymized diagnostic logs, where present, are retained for up to 30 days.

Children

LinkPower Companion is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, surfacing an in-app notice on next launch.
